Team Leader Family & Children's Programs

What we stand for

With over 20 locations across the Northern Territory and APY Lands our non-profit organisation has grown to over 250 team members who are committed to providing important social services and programs to individuals, couples, families, children, groups, schools, and agencies across the Northern Territory.

Our Family and Community Wellbeing services consist of programs that work together to provide a range of program, activities, and experiences to promote wellbeing and positive family functioning. These are Children and Parenting, Relationship and Counselling Services and Children's Contact centre.

About the role

Based in Alice Springs, this full-time Team Leader role you will use your amazing leadership abilities to ensure the implementation, leadership and integration of our programs. You will build relationships with people and stakeholders within the community - ensuring these programs meet their goals and objectives. You will have a particular focus on mentoring and leading program staff - applying your professional knowledge and support whilst also providing direct services and managing complex clients.

You will be committed to growing relationships and willing to step in and support where needed. Your knowledge of and willingness to immerse yourself in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture will see you thrive in this role.

What we are looking for:

  • Relevant qualification in Counselling, Social Work or Psychology and minimum five years' experience in relevant practice and team leadership
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including report writing and case note writing and supervision, and the ability to communicate effectively with managers, staff and stakeholders across a range of diverse cultural groups and settings.
  • Experience in providing supervision to multi-disciplinary staff.
  • Cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people
