Team Leader AOD - Tiwi Islands, NT

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to join our team in Tiwi Islands NT, providing leadership, support, coaching and mentoring to the team across suicide and violence prevention and AOD programs.

Our Tiwi Islands offices provides individual, family and community counselling and group work services to the community in areas of alcohol and other drugs, suicide prevention, financial wellbeing and capability, family violence, safe house and sports and recreation programs across the 3 communities.

About the role

As a Team Leader at CatholicCare NT, you will be responsible for the implementation, leadership, and integration of suicide and violence prevention and AOD programs. You'll feel a sense of accomplishment leading and mentoring staff members in your program, providing them with motivation and development opportunities. You'll oversee and contribute to the delivery of direct services, building your own skills working with participants with complex needs. You'll enjoy collaborating with various stakeholders and constantly be evaluating your program's effectiveness.

What we are looking for

  • A degree in human services or equivalent with substantial experience in the area of Alcohol and Drug treatment
  • Minimum five years' experience in relevant practice and team leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills report writing, case note writing
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with managers, staff and stakeholders across a range of diverse cultural groups and settings.
  • Experience in reporting and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data in line with program requirements and leading a team to do the same.
  • Experience in providing supervision to multi-disciplinary staff.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people.

Comprising Bathurst and Melville Islands, with a population of around 2500, the Tiwi Islands are only 80km north of Darwin.
